Chapter Hosts Cybersecurity Luncheon

The chapter sponsored a luncheon in November at the Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City in Arlington, Virginia. The event featured a panel of leaders discussing the wide, diverse implementation of the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework and the impact on government and industry. Additional topics included emerging trends in certification and accreditation and the parenthetical protection profiles. Panelists also discussed challenges in ramping up the cybersecurity workforce and the widely acclaimed Department of Homeland Security Cyber Weather Map's Common Operational Picture. The chapter's monthly luncheon series draws between 350 to 400 senior officers and information technology professionals from across the Department of Defense, armed services and intelligence and civilian agencies to discuss topics of interest to the government information technology community, ranging from information technology networks to mobility to cybersecurity to UAS/sensors.
