3 Community College Students Receive Annual Chapter Award |
Three students of Middlesex Community College (MCC) received chapter scholarships in a March ceremony at the college's Bedford, Massachusetts, campus. Sebastian Rojo received the $1,000 Thomas O'Mahony Spirit of Excellence Award. The scholarship honors O'Mahony, past chapter president and chairman of the board; retired Hanscom Air Force Base Senior Executive Service member; and chairman of the college's board of trustees. Rojo, originally from Colombia, resides in Lowell, Massachusetts. Malou Deng, originally from South Sudan and now a resident of Lowell, and Melissa Allard of Winchendon, Massachusetts, each received a $500 AFCEA scholarship. Each plans to pursue a bachelor's degree after graduating from MCC. The scholarships are awarded annually to MCC students to promote education in engineering as well as computer and physical sciences. |
