Description: |
The world of Private Cloud is constantly evolving;
on one hand, the migrations of Data Centers to the
Public Clouds of the three market leaders, and on
the other, the need to retain "in-house" some of
the most sensitive data is driving the Hybrid
Cloud forward.
Furthermore, in an increasingly interconnected
society online, every time we post a photo on
social media, we are, in fact, creating a new data
center somewhere in the world.
Each Data Center is composed of thousands of
computers that are used to store the data each of
us generates daily, and even though we don't see
them, they are accessed 24/7 and consume
electrical energy.
The Smart City generates millions of data through
interconnected objects (sensors, cameras, etc.) on
the network. It is, therefore, essential to design
sustainable Data Centers in terms of both cost-
effectiveness and energy savings.
VATES has always been committed to developing Open
Source Virtualization systems (the operating
system of Data Centers) that are sustainable both
in terms of cost savings for Public Administration
and private companies and in terms of energy
savings, ultimately contributing to CO2 reduction
goals.
The new scenarios, on one hand, technological, and
on the other, sustainability, therefore require a
new Hybrid/Open approach that allows us to achieve
both efficiency and effectiveness goals as well as
sustainability. |
