UMBC Training Centers and AFCEA Central Maryland
Emerging Leaders are teaming up to provide the
Emerging Leaders community a pair of AI workshops
at no cost to the Emerging Leaders community. The
second is a condensed 2-hour version of UMBC
Training Center's AI Essentials workshop, which
offers a well-rounded survey of Artificial
Intelligence for relative newcomers to the field.
It provides an overview of AI and Generative AI
fundamentals, surveys public and open-source
models, and explores multi-modal systems and
prompt engineering. The course also examines AI
applications in data analysis and visualization,
and introduces other AI tools for image and media
generation. The course combines lectures with
demonstrations..
This course is for Entry-level individuals with
basic internet and Microsoft Office/Google
Workspace skills who are looking to transition
into AI-related roles or enhance their career
prospects with AI knowledge. No prior AI knowledge
is required.

Tushar Rathod
· Bio: Tushar Rathod
Tushar Rathod owns an IT Consulting business that
focuses on AI, Product & Agile Project
Management. His diverse experience in multiple
different industries and roles gives him a
unique perspective to address highly complex
challenges currently facing the leadership ranks
in corporates, academia, government and non-
profits.As an AI product manager, he has led the
design and launch of AI-driven solutions, cloud
infrastructure, and compliance decisioning
models, while mentoring teams and shaping product
life cycles. His work spans from
government clients like the SSA, CMS and NIH to
private companies like PayPal, Northrop
Grumman, T. Rowe Price, Chick-fil-A, JP Morgan,
EY and PwC.Tushar is passionate about teaching and
mentoring on topics related to AI,
Strategy, Product and Project management. His
teaching experience includes the University of
Maryland, Towson University, and The Product
School. |
