Mr. Steve James President SJC Data, Inc. Industry Representative Steve James is founder and President of SJC Data, Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business focused on IT infrastructure services for public sector and commercial clients.
Steve is a retired senior Air Force information technology officer with over 28 years of government and industry leadership experience, and is particularly focused on helping agencies realize strategy alignment against the government’s transformational network centric operations initiative. Steve’s extensive leadership in both the public and private sectors makes him well suited to assist agencies in their effort to establish and implement sound, strategic technology roadmaps that save money and optimize performance.
Prior to establishing SJC Data, Inc., Steve spent twenty years as an Air Force IT professional serving across the conflict spectrum to include tours of duty ranging from Special Operations to the White House. He enjoyed three command assignments where he led organizations that ranged in size up to 600 people. Upon leaving the Air Force, he spent almost six years at the EMC Corporation directing sales/business development activity in support of Air Force and Department of Defense clients. He moved from there to take over as President and Chief Executive Officer of TKC Communications, a $180M IT government contractor with an extensive counter-intelligence, counter-terrorism customer portfolio. He successfully graduated that company from the government’s 8(a) program while simultaneously achieving more profitability than any other firm in the parent corporation’s 60 company portfolio. Steve has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Massachusetts, a Master of Arts from Central Michigan University in Business Management, and a Master of Science from the National War College in National Security Policy and Information Strategy.
Steve enjoys an expansive aerospace and defense professional network. That network allows the company to dynamically align its skill sets and areas of expertise with myriad value add government contractors, both large and small, to flexibly support a wide range of client needs.
