Mr. Jim Griggs

Jim Griggs joined the AFCEA staff in 2003 bringing with him more than 15 years of experience in the Information Technology field. As the CIO/CTO he heads up both day to day AFCEA International IT operations as well as leading outreach efforts to the National Security IT community. 

He is the chief liaison to the AFCEA Technology Committee, an all volunteer group of senior industry and government technology leaders, which among other things drives the program for AFCEA's SOLUTIONS Series events, and selects recipients for the annual AFCEA technology awards program. 

Mr. Griggs came to AFCEA from where he served in several roles including IT Director, Functional Software Designer, and Software Developer. During his tenure the IT systems grew to routinely handle several hundred thousand unique website visitors daily. A survivor of the 2000 internet shakeout, remains a cash flow positive business to this day. 

Prior to his stint in the .com arena Mr. Griggs worked for PRC (Northrop Grumman) for several years as a Senior Functional Analyst in their public safety division and was a PRC President's Award winner in 1998. He joined PRC after starting his career working for the Fairfax County Police in their Public Safety Communications Center. 

Mr. Griggs has a BS from George Mason University, and holds several commercial and government IT certifications. 

The son of a career Army Intelligence officer, Mr. Griggs is married to his wife Mary, raises Great Danes, and currently calls Warrenton, VA home.
