Engility Corp., Andover, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $35,136,920 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for advisory and assistance services support to the J10 Nuclear Enterprise Support Directorate. The J10 Directorate capabilities are to develop, improve and promulgate nuclear safety; security; accountability; control reliability; emergency/disaster response/recovery; training, transportation; and storage; infrastructure; related technologies; and research activities to U.S. and allied/partner forces, and U.S federal and allied/partner governmental organizations. This is a five-year contract with a one-year base and four option years.

McCrone Associated Inc., Westmont, Illinois, washas been awarded a $9,679,578 cost-plus-fixed-fee modification (P00033) on September 30 to previously awarded contract FA7022-12-C-0006. The contractor will provide nonpersonal services to process and analyze particle samples for Nuclear Test Ban Treaty verification for the Air Force Technical Applications Center nuclear directorate. The contract will support the U.S. Atomic Energy Detection System. Work will be performed in Westmont and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2016. Fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $9,679,578 are being obligated at the time of award.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) added two cities to its Domestic Nuclear Detection Office’s (DNDO) Securing the Cities program, an effort to increase the nation’s capabilities to detect and protect against radiological and nuclear threats. Officials on Monday announced the addition of Houston and Chicago to the program.

Northrop Grumman, Herndon, Virginia, has been awarded a $99,120,000 requirements type contract for nuclear safety cross check analysis, performance analysis and technical evaluation and independent validation and verification. Contractor will provide independent testing and evaluation of developer's software and hardware for impacts on Minuteman III nuclear safety. Tests and evaluations are conducted to ensure that software meets approved specifications and nuclear safety requirements. It also ensures that software does not contain errors or deficiencies that could lead to violations of the Department of Defense nuclear weapon system safety standards.
