|The Coastal Carolina Chapter of AFCEA provides venues for open dialogue on all C4ISR issues through exhibits, speakers and technical seminars. The local chapter meets regularly and membership is open to civilians and military personnel of all ranks. Each year our chapter supports awards programs for local communications schools, awards scholarships to deserving local high school and college students, and provides Science Teaching Tools awards to local science teachers.
The Chapter is based out of Camp Lejeune, NC. Camp Lejeune is the home of "Expeditionary Forces in Readiness". Resident Commands inlcude: II Marine Expeditionary Force, 2nd Marine Division, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command and other combat units and support commands. Additionally, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point falls with our area. MCAS Cherry Point houses the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training, the Fleet Readiness Center East, as well as other combat units and support commands. The base and surrounding community is home to an active duty, dependent, retiree and civilian employee population of approximately 180,000 people.
