Chapter Focus | |
The AFCEA Tidewater Chapter consists of over 250 civilian, military, and contractor members across the Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Army Services from the Joint Base Langley-Eustis Areas. We have fostered extensive community relations, scholarship, science and teaching tools, robotics, and STEM-related efforts to which we remain dedicated across our membership and Board of Directors. Chapter activities include holding periodic luncheons with distinguished speakers at the Senior Executive and General officer level from across the Joint community; touring local military and business facilities; hosting annual golf tournaments to raise funds for our scholarship and STEM programs; providing volunteer support to many community events; mentoring school programs; annual Aviation STEM Day with the Virginia Air and Space Center (VASC); and hosting an annual member social to recognize our membership and sponsor base. The chapter fosters an outstanding relationship with community professionals. Through constant engagement, industry support to the chapter remains vibrant--we continue to work to exceed our sponsorship goals. The chapter's industry outreach provides for significant small business and large corporation participation in our social events, luncheons, STEM efforts, and Golf Tournaments as Chapter sponsors. The majority of our industry employed board of director members are from small business. | |
