Chapter Focus
The AFCEA Tidewater Chapter consists of over 250 civilian, military, and contractor members across the Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Army Services from the Joint Base Langley-Eustis, southeast Virginia area. We have fostered extensive community relations, scholarship, science and teaching tools, robotics, and STEM-related efforts to which we remain dedicated across our membership and Board of Directors. Chapter activities include holding monthly luncheons or Virtual Meetings (AKA Veetings) with distinguished speakers at the Senior Executive and General officer level from across the military Joint and business communities; touring (in-person & virtual) local business and military capabilities/facilities; hosting annual fund raisers to fund our scholarship and STEM programs; providing volunteer assistance to many community events; mentoring school programs; hosting an annual Aviation STEM Day with the Virginia Air and Space Center (VASC); and holding an annual STEM Mixer/Social to recognize our scholarship recipients, Science & Engineering Fair Winners, and corporate support. The chapter fosters an outstanding relationship with community professionals. Through constant engagement, industry backing remains vibrant as we continue to work to exceed our sponsorship goals. Our chapter's industry outreach provides opportunities for significant small business and large corporation involvement in all of our events - Luncheons, Veetings, STEM initiatives, and other special functions as Chapter sponsors. The majority of our industry employed Board of Director members are from small business.
