| The Central Coast Chapter is headquartered at Vandenberg Air Force Base (VAFB) and services the Central Coast of California. VAFB, the largest United States Space Force base, is home to the Combined Force Space Component Command (CFSCC), Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), and the 30th Space Wing. It supports a large population of military, family members, contractors, and civilian employees and has a strong local aerospace contractor workforce. The Chapter provides interchange of relevant technology and policy at quarterly "Lunch and Learn" events at VAFB and sponsors an annual Technology Expo. The Chapter also supports the local community through scholarship and grant programs, such as the quarterly grants to recognize outstanding local K-12 Science and Technology teachers, and assistance to outstanding students going onto technical degrees. The Chapter will focus on improving membership, especially through the Young AFCEAN program. In addition to the activities listed above, we plan on having events through this segment of the chapter that will include tours of launch facilities and the Joint Space Operations Center. |
