|The chapter focus is on higher education (MS, MA, PhD) that includes recruitment of students, faculty, and administration at the Naval Postgraduate School and its MS, MA, and PhD education programs in applied science, mathematics, engineering, operational analysis, information and computer sciences, and business-public policy. Membership is from faculty, U. S. and international students, retired and active duty military, and the private sector. The Monterey Bay Chapter also interfaces with the Naval War College at NPS, the Naval Research Laboratory at Monterey, the Navy Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center, the Presidio of Monterey, the Defense Language Institute/Foreign Language Center, Fort Hunter Liggett, Stanford University School of Engineering, School of Business, Hoover Institution, Freeman Spogli Institute, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, California Polytechnic University, University of California Santa Cruz School of Engineering, Cal State University Monterey Bay, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, Middlebury Institute of International Studies, Stanford Hopkins Marine Labs, Cal State Marine Labs Moss Landing, community colleges, and schools with STEM and ROTC programs, and high technology firms.
Chapter president Lawrence Reeves was invited by NPS Dr. Wayne Porter to provide a talk on the evolution of Silicon Valley with his friend computer icon and Stanford professor Dr. Roger Melen to 30 Asst Secty of the Navy for RDTE Future Planners in 2015, an interface kept alive over the past two years
Our newest member is the Hon Dennis Donnahue, city of Salinas Mayor 2008-12 who presented the 139th AFCEA Wozencraft Electrical & Computer Engineeringg academic honor awards and is a member of our student motivation team.
