Master Sgt. Jason K. Stover, USAF, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Trident University. He enjoys serving in the Air Force and hopes to be accepted to Air Force Officer Training School once he finishes his degree. As a new dad, juggling everything is difficult, and this scholarship will help him finish his degree sooner. “I appreciate the foundation’s work to help service members attain their educational goals.” He is currently stationed at Randolph Air Force Base and was honored by the Alamo Chapter.

Saim Bashir is a veteran of the Marine Corps and is majoring in homeland security, intelligence analysis and geography information systems at George Mason University, Fairfax, Virginia. After graduating, he plans to pursue a master’s degree in geospatial intelligence and a career in homeland security. He says, “Your generosity has inspired me to work even harder, help others and give back to the community. I hope one day I will be able to help students achieve their goals just as you have helped me.” He was presented with a certificate and foundation coin by the Northern Virginia (NOVA) Chapter.

The War Veterans Scholarship is jointly sponsored by AFCEA International and the NOVA Chapter. The chapter also helps with the judging for this scholarship. AFCEA could not do it without chapter support and would like to thank all of the volunteers who make it possible.

The 2019 Fall War Veterans Scholarship opens for applications on August 12. The deadline is November 15. Visit scholarships.afcea.org to apply and learn more.
