Army Selects Envistacom and LiteCorp to Deliver Custom Satellite Communications

The U.S. Army awarded Atlanta-based Envistacom, LLC a task order to deliver very-small-aperture terminal (VSAT) satellite communications (SATCOM) On The Quick Halt (SOTQH) communication systems to specialized U.S. Army units, the company reported. The systems, to be used on using Polaris Defense all-terrain MRZR vehicles as well as CV-22 Osprey aircraft, will combine terminal technology from Rochester, New York-based Lite Coms; Envisticom will integrate the hardware at ts Innovation Center based on the compnay's prototype. Under the contract, Envistacom will integrate, test and deliver operational systems for deployment with active units. 

"Our entrepreneurial team has designed a custom VSAT solution in just weeks that meets the demanding packaging and survivability requirements for these special customers," said Bob Jacobson, President and CEO of Lite Coms. "The terminal integrates our newest Tactical Modem Assembly featuring the iDirect 950 Integrated Router Board."

In addition to delivering the SOTQH system, the team is engineering an overall solution that incorporates Communications On The Move (COTM) and SOTQH capabilities, while maintaining the tactical functionality of the MRZR platform and the transportation footprint of the CV-22.
