Business Focus:
The MITRE Corporation is a not-for-profit organization that works in the public interest to provide scientific research and analysis, development and acquisition, systems engineering and integration, and enterprise transformation support to the federal government. We operate seven federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs): The National Security Engineering Center, the Center for Advanced Aviation System Development, the Center for Enterprise Modernization, the Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute, the Judiciary Engineering and Modernization Center, the CMS Alliance to Modernize Healthcare, and the National Cybersecurity FFRDC. We also have an independent research program that explores new and expanded uses of technologies to meet our sponsors' needs. Our principal locations are in Bedford, Mass., and McLean, Va. Products/Services:
MITRE is chartered to work in the public interest. We do not manufacture products for sale and we have no commercial interests. This lack of commercial conflicts of interest forms the basis for our objectivity. We acquire sensitive and proprietary information from the government and industry to inform our work-they share this data with us because they know we won't use it for a competitive advantage.
