Congratulations, Spring 2025 Scholarship Winners!

Each spring, the AFCEA Educational Foundation launches its nationwide scholarship cycle, inviting hundreds of students to apply for STEM scholarships. In alignment with AFCEA’s mission, we proudly support students pursuing degrees in cybersecurity, information technology, STEM education and more—including active-duty military personnel and ROTC cadets.

We’re excited to spotlight two outstanding recipients of our spring 2025 scholarships.

Mark Anthony Basa: STEM Teachers Scholarship Recipient

We’re proud to recognize Mark Anthony Basa as a recipient of our MG Eugene C. Renzi, USA (Ret.) STEM Teachers Scholarship, awarded annually in honor of Maj. Gen. Eugene C. Renzi’s legacy. This scholarship is generously supported in part by an endowment from ManTech International.

Basa was awarded $2,500 to support his pursuit of a graduate degree in science education with a focus in special education at the University of Mount Saint Vincent. His teaching philosophy reflects a deep commitment to student growth.

“My short-term instructional goal is to establish a solid foundation of scientific concepts for all students,” Basa shared. “My long-term instructional goal is to cultivate students’ confidence and proficiency in STEM-related disciplines, empowering them to pursue future academic and professional endeavors.”

We’re excited to see how Basa will inspire the next generation of STEM learners.

Reeya Ramasamy: STEM Majors Cyber Security Scholarship Recipient

We’re thrilled to celebrate Reeya Ramasamy, a rising senior at Purdue University, as a recipient of our $5,000 STEM Majors Cyber Security Scholarship. Ramasamy is pursuing a degree in cybersecurity, with a strong focus on cyber forensics and the application of cybersecurity in homeland security.

Ramasamy’s impressive academic and leadership achievements reflect her deep passion for the field. She currently serves as president of the Women in Cybersecurity Club at Purdue, has earned numerous academic honors in her cybersecurity research and is gaining hands-on experience as a cybersecurity intern with the federal government.

We are honored to support Ramasamy on her journey and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make as a future leader in cybersecurity.
