Sev1Tech is Assisting HHS' Federal Occupational Health Agency with IT Modernization and Cloud

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) awarded Woodbridge, Virginia-based Sev1Tech a five-year task order to provide the Federal Occupational Health (FOH) agency with cloud infrastructure and information technology modernization services, the company announced recently. Under the contract, Sev1Tech will extend the agency's use of cloud technology from cloud service provider (CSP) Amazon Web Services. Sev1Tech will assist with the use of CSP products and service offerings, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). The company will also offer management, operational, and technical security controls and continuous monitoring procedures to ensure Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program compliance for cloud-based applications.

"These foundational infrastructure and platform technologies enable FOH to migrate to modern software systems, keep pace with commercial innovation, and make use of artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities," the company stated.

The FOH provides occupational health services to more than 360 federal agencies and 1.8 million federal employees, and an enterprise-level approach to cloud infrastructure and platforms will help the agency make critical data-driven decisions and remain the preferred source for occupational healthcare, the company said.
