DOD Releases RFP for JEDI Cloud Contract
The U.S. Defense Department released the formal request for proposal (RFP) for the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) cloud contract, seeking solicitations for cloud-related services.
"We are excited by the level of interest in JEDI Cloud and appreciate industry's participation throughout the draft solicitation process," DOD stated. "We are confident that these inputs helped us to refine and clarify the DOD's requirement represented in this RFP."
The department encouraged companies to read letters accompanying the RFP from the DOD Chief Information Officer (CIO) and the Cloud Computing Program Manager in order "to gain more insight" into the RFP requirements.
Any questions or comments about the solicitation request have to be submitted by August 16, 2018 at 11:00 am ET, DOD indicated.

It was disappointing to see
It was disappointing to see very little changes to this highly criticized approach that will put our nations most important defense secrets into a commercial Cloud. We could not find one Fortune 500 company who either chose a single cloud, or put their mission critical apps into a commercial cloud. Private Cloud are the most secure and unlikely to crash due to thinks like memory buffer overload as we see weekly with AWS.
