BAE Produces Jet Countermeasures for U.S. and Australia
BAE Systems Electronics, Intelligence and Support, Electronic Solutions, Nashua, New Hampshire, is being awarded a more than $36 million contract modification to exercise an option for the full-rate production, lot one, of the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures AN/ALE-55 subsystems for the F/A-18E/F aircraft, including associated technical support for the Navy, Marine Corps, and the government of Australia. In addition, this option provides for recurring and non-recurring engineering efforts in order to fabricate, assemble, test and deliver the component hardware of the AN/ALE-55 subsystem. The AN/ALE-55 subsystem consists of an electronic frequency converter (EFC) and a fiber optic towed device (FOTD) round. This option further provides EFCs and FOTD rounds for the Navy and Marine Corps, and FOTD rounds for the government of Australia. The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.
