As co-chair for the AFCEA Mid-America Cyberspace Conferences in 2022 and 2023, he helped the chapter return the conference to its in-person roots after it was held virtually during the pandemic. As a conference committee member, he led the development of conference agendas and orchestrated event logistics. He also helped evaluate speaker submissions and facilitated obtaining continuing education credits for conference attendees through coordination with AFCEA International.
All profits raised by the AFCEA Mid-America Cyberspace Conference are used to directly fund scholarships for local students and school STEM programs in the communities surrounding Scott Air Force Base. The 2022 conference raised $26,000, which was awarded to students and local schools, and the 2023 conference earned 18% more total revenue than the 2022 event. Millard additionally received recognition from AFCEA International during the Mid-America Cyberspace Conference for his leadership, innovation and dedication in providing a solid, well-prepared CEU package for all conference sessions. In recognition of his time, effort, service and support to the chapter and the association, AFCEA proudly names Ken Millard AFCEAN of the Month.
