AFCEAN of the Month, November 2026
Col. Simeon Atanasov Kralikov is the founder of the AFCEA Sofia Chapter and served as its president for 21 years, from 1993 to 2014.
Before forming a chapter in Bulgaria, Kralikov had a long and successful career in the Bulgarian Army. From 1982 to 1987, he served as the assistant chief of staff of the Land Forces and head of the automation department.
After his retirement, he was the head of a department and an adviser on information and communication systems in ministries and state agencies.
Kralikov has remained a member of the Sofia Chapter Board. During this time, he was awarded AFCEA International lifetime membership and was elected lifetime honorable president of the Bulgarian chapter.
He has also written a number of books, including one about the history of the Sofia Chapter, which is also a history of the modernization policy during the Bulgarian “transition” period.
The Sofia Chapter recognizes Kralikov’s 33 years of service and celebrates his dedication to the AFCEA mission in Bulgaria.
