Linnea Gavrilis has been a member of AFCEA International for six years. She has led and contributed to multiple programs, including AFCEA Women in STEM; served as a corporate AFCEA member as a partner with Ernst and Young; served during the TechNet Fort Liberty Symposium and Exposition (formerly Fort Bragg); and participated and contributed to program sponsorships to AFCEA. As part of the North Carolina Chapter board, Gavrilis participated in strategic planning sessions and helped recruit new members to negotiate the chapter’s contract with the event planners.

In 2023, as part of TechNet Fort Liberty, members decided to host a Recruiting Fair for separating soldiers and airmen as part of TechNet. Gavrilis took responsibility for every aspect of the Recruiting Fair, including advertising and marketing, social media, sponsorships, recruiting employers and driving job seeker attendance.

The event was a runaway success and sold out with 28 employers, including Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton, the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, Chick-fil-A, Cumberland County Schools, the FBI, Johnson Controls and the University of North Carolina Health System. Pre-registration numbers boasted 188 job seekers, and an amazing 450 job seekers attended. One hundred percent of the employers asked the chapter to host this event again next year as part of TechNet Fort Liberty.

In recognition of her superlative efforts in organizing and running the inaugural TechNet Fort Liberty Recruiting Fair, along with all her contributions to the chapter and AFCEA International, AFCEA proudly recognizes Linnea Gavrilis as AFCEAN of the Month.
