Thought Leadership: Setting the Future of Innovation and Digital Evolution

Members of AFCEA International’s Cyber Committee have been hard at work writing white papers sure to play transformative roles in safeguarding the United States and its national security interests.

Recently, the committee released its National Innovation Strategy (NIS), a more than 100-page blueprint designed to help position the United States as a leader in innovation. The document, available for download on SIGNAL Media’s Resource Library, provides a pivotal outline of primary goals and measurable objectives for all branches of the U.S. government for the next five years.

“By fostering cross-sector collaboration, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and implementing novel business models, the NIS aims to address critical challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities,” the paper’s authors write. “This strategy underscores the indispensable role of innovation in improving national security, sustaining economic prosperity and advancing societal well-being.”

The document underscores the pivotal role of innovation in meeting multifaceted challenges and embracing emerging opportunities faced by the United States, from ensuring national security to sustaining economic prosperity and promoting overall societal advancement. Innovation thrives by cultivating a robust and dynamic national innovation ecosystem.

In addition to the NIS, committee members also released a white paper titled “Navigating the Future of Cybersecurity With Artificial Intelligence,” also available on the Resource Library. This document tackles the issue that in a rapidly evolving digital landscape, cybersecurity is no longer solely a concern for the military and private sectors; it is also critically important for civilian government agencies. As cybersecurity threats grow more sophisticated, the document addresses ways to leverage artificial intelligence and how the technology is essential for protecting vital civilian infrastructure and services.

Each month, SIGNAL Magazine publishes a feature in the Committee Corner to highlight news you can us from AFCEA’s committees. Committee leaders should submit entries to Sandra Jontz.
