From the Desk of AFCEA’s Emerging Professionals in the Intelligence Community Committee

Committee Corner

AFCEA’s Emerging Professionals in the Intelligence Community (EPIC) Committee recently unveiled several new initiatives and working groups to better support disciplines and markets where members see the likelihood for significant impacts for the intelligence community, the AFCEA Intelligence Committee and AFCEA International.

Joining its list of efforts are the following new subcommittees:

    • An events subcommittee that will collaborate with the Intelligence Committee and AFCEA International staff to showcase EPIC members as panelists presenting at AFCEA’s flagship events. Other events include academic outreach, a fundraiser for SIGNAL Kids magazine and more.
    • The media subcommittee will work with the association’s Communications Department to publish members’ thought leadership in SIGNAL Media and other trade publications and news media.
    • The innovation subcommittee will provide space for members to brainstorm and create interagency and cross-industry ideas to highlight in AFCEA publications and events working with the other subcommittees.

Emerging professionals 40 and younger and those representing the public and private sectors comprise this vital advisory committee that plays a pivotal role in enhancing AFCEA’s outreach and education to the intelligence community.

EPIC encourages and nurtures emerging intelligence professionals and ultimately contributes to national security. Through various lines of effort, EPIC members have a unique platform to discuss intelligence-related concerns and engage in meaningful initiatives that provide invaluable contacts and relationships that are rewarding both personally and professionally.
Stay tuned to SIGNAL Media channels to learn more.
