Former Army CIO Lands at Booz Allen Hamilton

Leonel Garciga makes the move to the private sector a few weeks after leaving his role as U.S. Army CIO.

Former U.S. Army Chief Information Officer Leonel Garciga is now working for Booz Allen Hamilton as a senior executive adviser, according to company officials. In his new position, Garciga will aim to improve and strengthen the ability of Booz Allen Hamilton to provide warfighters with defense technology capabilities while addressing the focal points of the Defense Department.

In a post on LinkedIn, Garciga expressed his excitement about “continuing the mission.”

“Excited about continuing the mission in a new way—working with the exceptional Booz Allen Hamilton team to build the mission systems and technologies that help keep the United States safe, faster and stronger,” Garciga wrote. “There is no more critical moment to strengthen the defense industrial base and ensure it delivers at the speed and scale the Pentagon requires. I’m energized to contribute to that effort from this new vantage point. Looking forward to connecting, collaborating and sharing more in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned.”

This development comes nearly two weeks after Garciga announced that he was stepping down from his position within the Army.
