General Atomics Receives Two MQ-9 Awards
General Atomics - Aeronautical Systems Inc., Poway, California, has been awarded a $17,143,626 contract (0039) on previously awarded basic ordering agreement FA8620-15-G-4040 for MQ-9 Block 5 Exportability acquisition. Contractor will develop an MQ-9 Block 5 configuration for future foreign military sales customers. Work will be performed at Poway, California, and is expected to be complete by January 31, 2019. This contract involves foreign military sales for France and Spain. Fiscal 2016 special defense acquisition funds in the amount of $16,825,033 are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
The company also has been awarded a $9,249,631 modification (0044) to the same contract for MQ-9 Reaper Electrical Safety Improvement Program (ESIP) follow-on effort. Contractor will provide 46 ESIP retrofit kits, installations, initial spares and consumable kits for the MQ-9 Reaper. Work will be performed at Poway, California, and is expected to be complete by December 9, 2016. Fiscal 2015 and 2016 aircraft procurement funds in the amount of $9,249,631 are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
