Raytheon to Add Element to GPS Next Generation Control Center
Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems, Aurora, Colorado, is being awarded a $29,999,998 cost-plus-incentive-fee and cost-plus-award-fee contract for the Launch and Checkout System. This is an additional element added to the Global Positioning System (GPS) Next Generation Operational Control System. The Launch and Checkout System is necessary to support the launch of the GPS III Space Vehicle I, which includes support exercises, rehearsals, launch, early orbit and checkout. Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California, is the contracting activity.
