AFCEA receives many nominations for this award. Here are some tips for you can make yours stand out:
- Give a “Bottom Line Up Front” (BLUF) message in the justification section that includes the most impactful accomplishments, awards, and reasons you believe this person should be considered.
- Include as many specific details about the nominee’s accomplishments as possible. For example: “His efforts led to the successful deployment of ___, saving ___% of the program’s allocated budget for 2019. Or “her leadership ensured the project risks were managed to allow the new ____ to be implemented ___ months ahead of schedule.”
- Be certain you tailor each response uniquely for the nominee. The selection committee will recognize boilerplate or templated responses.
- Use bullet points or lists to draw attention to key or important information.
