You Have a Place in AFCEA
AFCEA has its foundation at the local level through the power and connections of its chapters, subchapters and student chapters/clubs around the world. AFCEA chapters are organized into regions and led by a dedicated group of volunteer members who advance AFCEA's mission at the local, regional and international levels.
Types of Chapters
Each chapter is unique in its leadership, initiatives and activities, but all chapters are part of the AFCEA family.
Activities at individual chapters vary based on size, location and community needs. Chapter events range from monthly breakfasts or luncheons to conferences, webinars, IT Days, professional development opportunities, Emerging Leader events, golf tournaments, 5k runs and Cycle for STEM rides.
Chapter Opportunities
Committee, leadership and volunteer positions offer a range of networking opportunities. Most chapters participate in award programs recognizing the work their members do in support of the association and the communities they serve. Chapter events held locally educate and inform members regarding opportunities and needs in their communities.
Educational Initiatives
Chapters offer science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) scholarships and grants and provide professional development opportunities to members. Many chapters offer sessions approved by CompTIA, GIAC and CertNexus for cybersecurity certification maintenance. Check chapter event information to see if continuing education is formally supported.
Student Clubs and Chapters
Student chapters and clubs are founded by AFCEA chapters to provide students the opportunity for knowledge sharing and discussion. Through affiliation with universities and active AFCEA chapters, the students engage with AFCEA members who are professionals in STEM areas, both in industry and government.
