It should come as no surprise that digital forensics plays a huge role in both law enforcement investigations and ongoing military operations. Hundreds of millions of dollars are spent each year on digital forensic software that processes and extracts digital evidence and the field is continually expanding. However, industry technology surrounding one of the most important first steps in the process, copying the target device (¿imaging¿), has stagnated.

Whether you¿ve just tagged a batch of critical digital evidence from a crime scene or you¿ve just come off an objective and need actionable intelligence extracted from captured media immediately, you don¿t have time to fumble with decade-old convoluted forensic imaging software. You also don¿t have time to wait for your media to be imaged, transferred, processed, and examined before getting your hands on initial triage reports.

For our nation¿s protectors, who are already working extremely long hours oftentimes in dangerous or high-stress environments, removing any possibility of user-error from the picture is a must. As consumers of forensic images back home, we also understand how critical it is for the field to not just get forensic imaging done right the first time, but for them to log all of the sometimes difficult to acquire detailed device information as well.

Lastly, when minutes matter, the tried-and-true forensic imaging process is significantly too slow all while the appetite for faster access to actionable intelligence is constantly growing.
