Description: About Technology Over Bagels:
TOB is a free monthly technical presentation that takes place on the second Tuesday of every month (excluding July and August). Bagels and coffee are available starting at 7:30, and the presentation runs from 8:00-9:00. Typical audience size is 40+. Speakers and attendees range from highly niche technical on-site engineers, consultants, company owners, and business development. TOB is run by Central Maryland's Young AFCEANs, and AFCEA membership is NOT necessary in order to attend.
Event Speaker: Alenna Drake & Pamela Sotnick from Splunk
Alenna Drake joined Splunk as a Systems Engineer in 2018 supporting Ft. Meade. Prior to joining Splunk, she was a Cyber Defense Analyst with McAfee for government clients specializing in IPS/IDS sensor platforms as well as SIEM and sandbox appliances. She hails from a Signals Development Analyst background supporting digital network operations and started her career path while stationed at Fort Meade in the Army. Pamela Sotnick joined Splunk in 2013 as a Program Manager supporting Ft. Meade. Prior to joining Splunk she has spent her career focusing on innovative technical solutions supporting the US Government programs and initiatives.
We will present an overview of Splunk and how it allows machine data to enable operations and business insight across IT Operations, Security and Compliance, Application Delivery, Mission Analytics, and Industrial Control Systems. This will be capped with an introduction to some of the premium apps and the newest features that move Splunk into automated event correlation, automated workflow execution, and machine learning driven analytics.
