AFCEA Answers Radio Show Premieres in June
As it becomes more challenging for AFCEA members to network via conferences, the association is finding innovative ways to facilitate connectivity, engage its members, boost conversations and share information. As it becomes more challenging for AFCEA members to network via conferences, the association is finding innovative ways to facilitate connectivity, engage its members, boost conversations and share information. AFCEA Answers is the latest way the association is reaching out by taking to the airwaves and the Internet. The half-hour radio show debuts on June 21, 2013, on Federal News Radio, which airs on 1500 AM and at www.federalnewsradio.com.
Each show, which will air every other Friday at 2:05 p.m. EST, will examine a hot topic vexing government and industry professionals, including cyber defense, mobile communications, identity management and the cloud data. Moderated discussions among government and industry guests will be framed around a primary question. For example, the show about cloud data poses the question “Are clouds bursting with data?”
“Travel restrictions hamper the ability to network for everyone. This radio show is one way to keep the dialogue about crucial issues between government and industry open and alive and well,” Linda Millis, vice president, Industry Programs, AFCEA International, says.
Because the shows will be available online after airing, listeners will be able to revisit the content and share it with others. They also will be available to download the dialogues as podcasts.
