Air Force Awards Contract for Defense Experimentation on Commercial Internet
L3 Technologies Inc., Camden, New Jersey, was awarded an $80,810,130 contract for the Defense Experimentation Using Commercial Space Internet (DEUCSI). This contract provides for the ability to communicate with military platforms via multiple commercial space internet (CSI) constellations in various orbital regimes using common user terminal and hardware elements. Work will be performed in Salt Lake City, and is expected to be completed by August 17, 2026. This contract was a competitive acquisition, and one offer was received. Fiscal 2022 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $20,000,000 are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity (FA8650-23-C-9311). (Awarded March 17, 2023)
