Air Force To Mature Upper Stage Engine

Sierra Space Corp., Broomfield, Colorado, has been awarded a $22,605,083 firm-fixed-price contract for the maturation of the Advanced Upper Stage Engine (VR35K-A). This contract provides for leveraging the test data from the first Phase III Small Business Innovation Research component and integrated breadboard engine test to develop flight-weight engine component designs. Work will be performed at Broomfield, Colorado, and is expected to be completed by October 25, 2025. The contract was a sole-source acquisition. Fiscal 2022 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $20,512,596 are being obligated at time of award. The Air Force Test Center, Edwards Air Force Base, California, is the contracting activity (FA9300-23-6015).
