Alliant Techsystems To Produce Mortar Cartridges Under U.S. Contracting Command Agreement

Alliant Techsystems Inc. has been awarded an $8.9 million firm-fixed-price contract to produce the 120-millimeter (mm) accelerated precision mortar initiative (APMI) with the goal of fielding the 120-mm precision-guided mortar cartridge. The contract, let by the U.S. Contracting Command, Joint Munitions and Lethality Contracting Center, will encompass all activities necessary to produce approximately 1,310 APMI cartridges at an estimated total value of $18.3 million.
