ManTech Providing Advanced Sensors for Hawkeye Aircraft

Under a four-year $45 million award, Herndon, Virginia-based ManTech will support the technical advancement of sensors used by the Naval Air Systems Command's (NAVAIR's) PMA-231 Program Office for the Hawkeye aircraft. Used by the Navy for over 50 years, the Hawkeye is considered "the eyes of the fleet," as it provides surveillance, identification and tracking of threat aircraft and cruise missile systems. In the effort, ManTech will support sensor development and provide sensor integration, as well as agile software engineering and development techniques to increase sensor performance in rapid-fire sprints and accelerate intelligence delivery.

ManTech’s agile approach to sensor development and platform integration will drive efficiency, add flexibility for adopting emerging technologies and lead the way to new capabilities that enhance the U.S. Navy warfighter’s mission,” said Kevin Phillips, ManTech president and CEO.

The award is part of the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center (DOD IAC), Defense Systems Technical Area Task, Multiple Award Contract. The DOD IAC program provides technical data management and research support to the military and federal government users.
