ManTech Secures $668 Million DHS Contract
The Department of Homeland Security has awarded a $668 million contract to Herndon, Virginia-based ManTech in support of DHS' Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense (DEFEND) program, the company reported. Under the new six-year agreement, ManTech will serve as the prime contractor providing CDM capabilities and support to the department and the 9 agencies assigned to CDM Group E, to strengthen their cybersecurity posture and improve their ability to rapidly respond to today’s rising threat of cyberattack. Group E includes the CDM efforts within the Department of Education (ED), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the HUD Office of Inspector General (HUD OIG), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), National Science Foundation (NSF), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Small Business Administration (SBA). The CDM DEFEND program is meant to reduce agency threat surfaces, achieve advantageous cost and price discounts for tools and capabilities, and accelerate the implementation and adoption of the CDM program within participating agencies. “ManTech has played a strategic role in the CDM program for over three years, supporting more than 65 agencies in both Phases 1 and 2, and we’re honored to continue supporting the CDM program’s critical role in defending federal networks,” said Kevin Phillips, ManTech president and CEO. “This latest award underscores their confidence in us as a long term trusted partner.”
