Navatek is Assisting the Navy with Asymmetric Force and Logistic Research
Navatek LLC,* Honolulu, Hawaii, is awarded a $9,653,744 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for systematic advances in asymmetric Naval forces and logistics. The contract provides for research to identify opportunities in our current operating fleet and operational methods where asymmetric concepts can be evaluated for further development. Research will focus on increased robustness of autonomous systems, study of the power systems related to small systems and platforms, investigation into hydro-mechanical interactions with resilient composite structures, examination of the system components ancillary to large resilient composite structures and identifying and evaluating opportunities in the Navy’s current operating fleet and operational methods. Work will be performed in Honolulu, Hawaii, and is expected to be completed by August 18, 2023. The total cumulative value of this contract is $9,653,744. The base period is $9,653,744 with no option periods. Fiscal 2020 research, development, test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $5,939,382 are obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The contract was competitively procured under N00014-20-S-B001, “Long Range Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for Navy and Marine Corps Science & Technology.” Since proposals are received throughout the year under the Long Range BAA, the number of proposals received in response to the solicitation is unknown.
