FN Manufacturing To Supply MK-48 Mod-1 Weapons Systems to U.S. Navy

FN Manufacturing LLC has received an $11.5 million firm-fixed-price contract for the MK-48 Mod-1 lightweight machine gun (LMG) to support the Navy Small Arms program. The contract, let by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, calls for the company to manufacture MK-48 LMGs, compact, manportable, belt-fed, air-cooled weapon systems capable of engaging targets out to 1,000 meters.
