L-3 to Provide Electro-Optical Sensor System Spares to South Korea

L-3 Communications Corp., doing business as L-3 KEO, Northampton, Massachusetts, is being awarded a $9,336,979 firm-fixed-price delivery order under basic ordering agreement N00024-15-G-5359 for MK 46 and MK 20 Electro-Optical Sensor System depot spares. The MK 46 and MK 20 Electro-Optical Sensor Systems are the primary gun check sight for the MK 34 and MK 48 Gun Weapon Systems employed by the DDG 51 class, CG 47 class and Coast Guard WMSL class, as well as ship classes of various allied nations. The spares procured are required to support the gun weapon systems by performing safety check-sighting, look-point-shoot, range, identification of counter-battery targets and identification of short range surface targets in support of anti-surface warfare. This contract combines purchases for the Navy (81 percent); and the government of Korea (19 percent) under the foreign military sales program. Work will be performed in Northampton, Massachusetts (95 percent); and Brattleboro, Vermont (5 percent), and is expected to be completed by October 2018. Fiscal 2016 and 2015 other procurement (Navy); and fiscal 2016 foreign military sales funding in the amount of $9,336,979 is being obligated at the time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.
