Lockheed Martin Selected for Contract by NASA for Next-Generation GOES-R Series Weather Satellites

Lockheed Martin has been selected by NASA to build the next-generation Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite R-Series, known as GOES-R, for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The basic contract is for two spacecraft and has a total estimated value of $1.09 billion, including options.
