Raytheon Awarded Contract To Reduce Wind Turbine Effects On Air Traffic Radar

Raytheon Company has been awarded a $6.5 million contract from the United Kingdom's NATS, formerly the National Air Traffic Services, to conduct software modeling and field tests of technology to minimize the effects of wind turbines on radar signals. The company will develop and test advanced mitigation algorithms within its S-band approach and L-band en route primary surveillance radars.
