Small Businesses Supporting DOD and Naval IT
The Navy has awarded a contract to three small businesses, Middletown, Rhode Island-based Rite-Solutions; eScience & Technology Solutions, Inc. of North Charleston, South Carolina; and Ideamatics, Inc. of McLean, Virginia, to support DOD and Navy business applications and information technology (IT) systems under the Rapid Product Development and Sustainment (RaPDS) contracat vehicle. Under the indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) award from the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Sea Warrior Program Office (PMW 240), the companies will provide support to the Navy Fleet as well as DOD and Navy Business System applications ranging from workforce development to administration and criminal justice. The companies will design, develop, modernize and sustain SPAWAR’s Sea Warrior (PMW 240) and Enterprise Systems and Service (PMW 250) IT systems, as part of the Navy Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems (PEO-EIS). The RaPDS contract has a ceiling of $300,000,000 with a five-year base ordering period covering November 2017 to November 2022. The contract also offers three one-year options, which could extend the work through November 2025. The three awardees will compete for individual task orders under the contract.
“We are very excited to receive this contract award from PMW 240 [and PMW 250],” said Dennis McLaughlin, president and CEO of Rite-Solutions. “It is our largest IDIQ and provides the opportunity for significant business growth with a new DOD customer in our core capability - software engineering.”
