Meggitt Training Wins Marksmanship Simulator Contract
Meggitt Training Systems, Suwanee, Georgia, was awarded a $30,575,466 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for the procurement of 670 indoor simulated marksmanship trainers (ISMT), a three-dimensional, simulation-based system for indoor use capable of instructing in basic and advanced marksmanship, shoot/no-shoot judgment, combat marksmanship, supporting arms and weapons employment tactics. The ISMT system will consist of an instructor/operator station, audiovisual system, host computer, input/output network system and weapons. The ISMT systems will be used both within and outside the continental United States. The ISMT will be capable of being deployed on Navy ships and at U.S. embassies. This contract contains options, which if exercised, will bring the contract value to $32,732,081. Work will be performed in Suwanee, Georgia (90 percent) and at multiple Marine Corps Reserve sites (10 percent). Work is expected to be completed November 2019. No funding will be obligated at the time of award. Funds will be obligated on individual delivery orders as they are issued. This contract was competitively solicited through the Federal Business Opportunities website, with three offers received.
