U.S. Navy Modifies Railgun Charger Contract
L-3 Communications Applied Technologies Inc., San Leandro, California, is being awarded an $8,415,923 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-07-C-4223 to fabricate and assemble long procurement lead time materials associated with the pulse-power power supplies for the electromagnetic railgun capacitor charger. Work will be performed in Neptune, New Jersey (98 percent); and San Leandro, California (2 percent), and is expected to be completed by June 2016. Fiscal 2015 research, development, test and evaluation funding in the amount $8,362,000 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
