Three Companies Awarded Tactical Service Field Demonstration Contracts
Raytheon Co. Space and Airborne Systems, Marlborough, Massachusetts, has been awarded a $39,951,691 cost-plus-incentive-fee contract (FA8808-16-C-0006) for protected tactical service field demonstration (PTSFD). PTSFD will demonstrate the ability to provide wideband anti-jam communications to tactical users using the Wideband Global Satellite Communications (SATCOM) constellation and commercial SATCOM. Work will be performed in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2020.
L-3 Communication Systems–West, Salt Lake City, has been awarded a $38,099,365 contract (FA8808-16-C-0003). Work for it will be performed in Salt Lake City and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2020.
ViaSat Inc., Carlsbad, California, has been awarded $33,291,975 (FA8808-16-C-0005) and will work in Carlsbad, California, during the same time period as the others.
These awards are the result of a competitive acquisition, and five offers were received. For each contract, fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $11,000,000 are being obligated at the time of the award. The Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California, is the contracting activity.
