Trident Systems to Research Airborne Data Link Communications
Trident Systems Inc., Fairfax, Virginia, is being awarded a $24,389,616 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for basic and applied research of persistent airborne data link communications components and systems. This effort will increase the effectiveness of small airborne systems by providing actionable real-time situational awareness information to the warfighter. Work will be performed in Fairfax, Virginia (71 percent); and Raleigh, North Carolina (29 percent), and is expected to be completed in July 2020. Fiscal 2015 research development test and evaluation (Navy) funds in the amount of $2,273,280 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured via broad agency announcement. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, New Jersey, is the contracting activity (N68335-15-C-0087).
