U.S. Air Force Modifies Space-Based Infrared System Contract

Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co., Sunnyvale, California, has been awarded a $45,047,020 modification (P00083) to previously awarded contract FA8810-13-C-0002 for contractor logistics support (CLS), legacy sustainment and combined task force support. Contractor will conduct studies on the Space-Based Infrared System CLS and legacy sustainment baseline system. The studies are directed in response to deficiencies, failures or evolving requirements, changes in external user data needs or interfaces, or changes in technology. The system modifications are directed to implement system or facility modifications, changes to operational procedures or system configurations in response to deficiencies, failures, evolving requirements, changes in external user data needs or interfaces, or changing technology. Studies and modifications are required for continued support to operations, maintenance and sustainment for the operational SBIRS ground systems assets. Work will be performed at Sunnyvale, California; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Boulder, Colorado, and is expected to be complete by June 30, 2019. Fiscal 2016 operations and maintenance funds in the amount of $45,047,020 are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California, is the contracting activity.
