Tammy Goehring serves as AFCEA’s International Secretary, Vice President of HR/Support and Vice President of the AFCEA Educational Foundation. In her role as International Secretary, she is an officer of AFCEA International and serves as staff liaison to the Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Governance Committee and Nominating Committee. She also fulfills the role of AFCEA’s Ethics and Compliance Officer.
Ms. Goehring has more than 20 years of strategic leadership experience and has built a career defined by innovation, collaboration, and a strong commitment to AFCEA’s mission. Her expertise spans strategic planning, financial management, contract negotiation, and event design and execution. She is known for her ability to guide complex projects to successful outcomes while maximizing organizational value, as well as for her clear communication style and diplomatic leadership under pressure.
Before assuming her current roles, Ms. Goehring served as Vice President of Operations in AFCEA’s National Security and Defense Department, where she planned and oversaw high-profile conferences and events. These events provide an ethical forum for information sharing among military, government, industry, and academia within the national security and defense C5I community. Earlier in her tenure at AFCEA, she worked in the Membership Department, managing key functional committees and leading the establishment of AFCEA’s Small Business Program in 2008
Ms. Goehring holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting and finance and a Master of Business Administration in management. She also holds the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation and the Digital Event Strategist (DES) certification. She is also a member of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals and a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of America. Her leadership approach is shaped in part by the adaptability she developed through numerous relocations as a U.S. Army spouse.
