AFCEA Committee Positions Available
The AFCEA Cyber Committee is now accepting applications for participation. The committee coordinates and enhances AFCEA’s outreach to the cybercommunity, cultivates partnership opportunities among government, industry and academia, and serves as a forum to develop new ideas regarding cyber challenges and capabilities. In addition, the Cyber Committee is the association’s principal cyber resource in support of chapters and members through various forums and other information exchange services.
Lt. Gen. Charles E. Croom, USAF (Ret.), vice president, cyber security solutions, Lockheed Martin Information Systems & Global Services, and former director of the Defense Information Systems Agency, co-chairs the Cyber Committee with Zal Azmi, senior vice president for global strategic law and national security, CACI International Incorporated, and former FBI chief information officer. Committee members prepare, review, approve and/or recommend content for AFCEA events, publications, workshops, education and training as well as conduct at least one cyber-related event annually.
AFCEA’s standing committees are chartered by and responsible to the association’s president and chief executive officer. Applicants for Cyber Committee membership must work for the private sector and be an AFCEA member. If not a current member, a candidate must join the association either as an individual or through corporate membership if elected to the committee. Government liaison committee members are appointed to the committee through a separate process.
The Cyber Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at AFCEA Headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia. Contact Dr. Vince Patton, vice president, homeland security programs, AFCEA, for additional information.
