AFCEA Europe Welcomes New Office Manager, Says Goodbye to Longtime Employee
Anastasija “Ana” Solovjova was promoted from event coordinator to office manager of the AFCEA European office, effective December 1. In her new role, Solovjova is responsible for overseeing AFCEA Europe activities in coordination with European General Manager Rear Adm. Massimo Esposito, Italian navy (Ret.)
Solovjova stepped into the role as Pia Sementilli, director of European Operations, will retire December 31 after 40 years with AFCEA Europe.
“AFCEA is truly grateful for the four decades Pia has committed to the success of the AFCEA European office,” said AFCEA President and CEO Lt. Gen. Susan S. Lawrence, USA (Ret.). “She exemplifies true professionalism, devotion and confidence, and we are thankful for her service to our European community.”
Solovjova made a great addition to the AFCEA team since the day she joined as an intern in April 2021. “Massimo and I are confident she will continue to contribute significantly to the success of our activities and events,” Lawrence said.
Solovjova is fluent in English, Russian and Latvian and has a good knowledge of French. She studied in the United Kingdom and graduated with a degree in political science from the VUB University in Brussels.
Together with Esposito; Mandy Rizzo, manager of AFCEA Europe Events; and Sevval Akyuz, Marketing and Events coordinator, the team will oversee vital events such as TechNet Transatlantic, TechNet Europe and TechNet International in addition to our European chapter membership duties and the many programs and symposia hosted by our office in Brussels.
